First Trailer For Time-Travel & Found-Footage Film ‘Welcome To Yesterday’

CHRONICLE was probably one of the last found-footage films I remember that really made an impact, it found an immersive line between sci-fi and the ‘what if…‘ question of ordinary humans with super powers and morality issues. I say all this because today we’ve got the first trailer for WELCOME TO YESTERDAY, previously known as Almanac.

The vibe from this trailer does feels a little CHRONICLE but also has ideas from THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT and, wait for it, anything with time travel in it. I would say BACK TO THE FUTURE but this one doesn’t really have the same charm…from what we’ve been offered here.

Saying that, there’s no way I’m going to completely dismiss it before we actually see it. The premise follows a group of teens who discover a secret plan that tells them how to make a time machine. It’s all fun and excitement until something, as you’d expect, starts to go wrong.  Check it out for yourselves:

So what did you think? For me, the trailer here probably reveals far too much, too quickly, and this only fuels the cynicism for this directorial debut for Dean Israelite with a screenplay from PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 5 (2014/2015) duo Jason Pagan and Andrew Stark.

WELCOME TO YESTERDAY stars Amy Landecker, Sofia Black D’Elia, Ginny Gardner, Jonny Weston, Patrick Johnson, and Allen Evangelista. It’s released on 21st February in the UK and on the 28th February in the USA.

Check out their official Facebook! P.S. It’s produced by Michael Bay.
