Yet another group who feel the need to make known those who come in second, the Southeastern Film Critics Association are firmly in favour of Steve McQueen’s 12 YEARS A SLAVE. Their top ten of the year reads very much like their dream Best Picture nominees, and it’s great to see Judi Dench nipping at Cate Blanchett’s heels for her heartbreaking turn in PHILOMENA.
