2014 could well be the beginning of new Biblical epics with Darren Aronofsky’s NOAH hitting the big screen in March, and then Ridley Scott’s EXODUS coming out in December.
It’s hard to know what to expect from either at the moment because although NOAH has all the hints of a standard epic, Aronofsky isn’t exactly known for his straight-forward story-telling, so I’m hoping for a few surprises as the trailer didn’t exactly sell it as a ‘must-see’ for me.
Back to Ridley Scott and EXODUS though for the moment with this new official shot of star Christian Bale as Moses on his horse, while behind him the statue of Rhamses (who’ll be played by Joel Edgerton) is being constructed. The film also co-stars Sigourney Weaver, Aaron Paul, Ben Kingsley, Emun Elliot, John Turturro and more. The only concern, so far, is the script comes from the writers behind TOWER HEIST (Adam Cooper and Bill Collage) and little else but I’d think they’ve knuckled down for this one.
EXODUS opens on December 12th, 2014.
