Fascinating New Trailer For HBO’s ‘True Detective’ Starring Matthew McConaughey & Woody Harrelson

Initially, I was pondering over beginning this article with ‘another cop show is on the way‘ but this one from HBO really does look like a whole new look into the psychological well-being of the characters involved. If you know anything about HBO, then you’ll know the majority of their series aren’t your usual affair and this new trailer goes a long way to really back-up that theory.

True Detective is created by Nic Pizzolatto (who also wrote a few episodes of The Killing) and has a stellar pair in top billing as Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson take roles as Rust Cohle and Martin Hart respectively. This teaser is also accompanied by a somewhat reflective, yet haunting, voice-over from the underrated Michelle Monaghan who stars as Hart’s (Harrelson) wife Maggie Hart.

The series is set to premiere in the USA on January 12th and we’re hoping that it should arrive over in the UK not long after, we’ll keep you up-to-date with any news there. Check out the trailer below:

True Detective is due to run for 8 episodes in the first season, and I guess they’ll see how it runs but it looks visually stunning, You can also Like them on Facebook and follow over on Twitter with the hashtag #TrueDetective.
