The first trailer has been unveiled for the acclaimed Sundance Channel‘s brand new gripping drama serial, The Red Road. The six-episode series will air in the US on the 27th February and follows a local sheriff, played by Aussie actor Martin Henderson, who finds he and his family caught between two communities at war. One led by Game Of Thrones’ hulking Jason Momoa; the other by the brilliant Tom Sizemore, who’s looking back in fine form following a number of infamous incidents over recent years.
Revolves around a local cop struggling to keep his family together while simultaneously policing two clashing communities: the small town where he grew up and the neighboring mountains, home of a Native American tribe. After a terrible tragedy and coverup occurs involving the cop’s wife, an unholy alliance is forged between the cop and Phillip Kopus, a dangerous member of the tribe that will come back to haunt all involved.
The Red Road is created by PRISONERS and CONTRABAND writer Aaron Guzikowski, with WE OWN THE NIGHT’s James Gray helming the pilot. Julianne Nicholson, Tamara Tunie, Annalise Basso, Allie Gonino, Kiowa Gordon, Lisa Bonet co-star. No details as yet on a UK release.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
