You have to love a surprise casting right? It looks like Zoe Saldana will be following suit of Mia Farrow, as it has been announced she will be joining NBC’s adaptation of ROSEMARY’S BABY.
Saldana will take on the role of Rosemary Woodhouse in the four hour mini series. It is believed that the series will follow the original story closely, telling that infamous tale of a young wife and mother-to-be who finds her unborn child at the heart of a Satanic cult who plan to sacrifice her baby. Agnieszka Holland is set to direct, while Scott Abbott and James Wong take on screenwriting duties.
In a press release, Quinn Taylor, Executive Vice President of Movies, Miniseries and International Co-Productions at NBC said:
“Zoe has proven that she is one of our most gifted actresses and we think she has the perfect combination of spirit and gravitas to take on the title role from Ira Levin’s infamous novel.”
While we had our doubts before, Saldana’s casting definitely catches our interest now!
