Complete List Of The Golden Globe Winners!

Well, the first major award ceremony of the year is complete, yet, it’s another indiction that the 2014 Academy Awards is still a wide open race. There were scoops for David O. Russell’s sublime crime caper AMERICAN HUSTLE, Warner Bros. tense sci-fi thriller GRAVITY and a well-deserved late boost for Leonardo DiCaprio for his role of financial scoundrel Jordan Belfort in Martin Scorsese’s THE WOLF OF WALL STREET. However, there was no runaway success story. Even Spike Jonze’s HER threw up a surprise when the writer/director landed Best Screenplay against stiff competition. Perhaps the biggest shock on the night was only one gong for Steve McQueen’s slavery biopic 12 YEARS A SLAVE.  A serious dent in its Oscar hopes, albeit it was for Best Drama.

You can find the full list of awards including those for television below, which again proved Bryan Cranston and his ground-breaking series Breaking Bad is still king despite its final season! Check our earlier predictions to see if our very own Emma was on the money.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
