Next up for academy award Nominee Jake Gyllenhaal is another outing with PRISONERS director, Denis Villeneuve. ENEMY is described as a sexy and hypnotically surreal psychological thriller that’s set to bring us something new. They also said that about SOURCE CODE and although I also enjoyed it, it felt a little Quantum Leap but, I guess, that might depend on how old you are. This new film also co-stars Mélanie Laurent, Isabella Rosellini and Sarah Gadon.
In ENEMY, Gyllenhall plays Adam Bell, a disheveled history professor, who seems disinterested in life and his beautiful girlfriend, Mary (Laurent). Upon watching a movie, Adam spots his double, a bit-part actor named Anthony Clair, and decides to track him down and then the men meet. ENEMY, adapted from Nobel Prize-winning author José Saramago’s 2004 novel The Double and is set for a full USA release on March 14th and in Spain on March 28th.
