It’s Hands On For The Sundance Teaser Poster Of ‘The Voices’

Sundance Film Festival is always a chance for movies that are slightly more ‘out there’ than your regular blockbusters to take centre stage and be welcomed into audiences hearts. Released ahead of its Sundance premiere is the teaser poster for THE VOICES;  the latest project from Marjane Satrapi (PERSEPOLIS, CHICKEN WITH PLUMS).  The film stars Ryan Reynolds as he gets caught up in a murder and starts taking advice from his talking dog. We’re serious, here’s the official synposis:

‘This genre-bending tale centers around Jerry Hickfang, a lovable but disturbed factory worker who yearns for attention from a woman in accounting. When their relationship takes a sudden, murderous turn, Jerry’s evil talking cat and benevolent talking dog lead him down a fantastical path where he ultimately finds salvation.’

For an independently financed movie it’s got an unusually star-filled cast including, alongside Reynolds as Jerry, Anna Kendrick, Jacki Weaver and Gemma Arterton.  The screenplay is from Michael R. Perry, best known for his TV work including ‘The Guardian’ and ‘The River’ but he also penned PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2.

The poster, below in all its’ pink glory, is certainly eye-catching. Let’s hope it catches the attention of the distributors when it debuts so we can hope to see it on UK screens some time in the future.
