Anticipation for Marvel Studios’ and Joss Whedon’s AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON could never be higher with filming due to begin within the next month. The imminent and fantastic-looking CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER is also helping to build excitement with a promised lead in to Whedon’s super sequel through events that directly connect the two films.
Now the lovely Cobie Smulder’s (HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER) has confirmed that she will return to play Agent Maria Hill once again after appearing in THE AVENGERS, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D television pilot and the upcoming CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER. It’s fair to say that the character is already a firm favourite among fans so it will be a delight to see her reprise the role for her fourth appearance as the character. Although the actress was tight-lipped on any plot details for the film, she definitely confirms her involvement and is also asked about a return to ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, you can read the interview below:
You’re going to be suiting up in a S.H.I.E.L.D. uniform again soon. Have you seen the Avengers: Age of Ultron script yet?
Smulders: I’m not talking about Avengers… anymore. [Laughs]
[Laughs] Ever?
Smulders: Ever!
That’ll make the junkets so strange!
Smulders: I’ll tell you, I’m excited about it. I know everything there is to know, but I’m not saying anything about it — until literally the movie’s out on DVD. Then I’ll be like, “Wasn’t that a great part?” But I’m very excited. Joss Whedon is the best man on the planet.
Let me see if I can get you to say anything about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and whether you may have a little free time to pop over there again?
Smulders: As I sip my giant scotch…
[Laughs] I should give you a couple more of those to get you to talk.
Smulders: No, I don’t know anything about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. I’ve been watching, and I think it’s such a great show. They’re doing such a wonderful job, but I don’t know about my personal involvement.
We’ll next see Miss Smulders in Captain America’s second outing which will be released on 28th March over here in the UK. While AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON is still a while away it begins filming next month and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackon, Don Cheadle and Cobie Smulders.
