Coming from French actor-turned-filmmaker and writer Guillaume Canet (TELL NO ONE), gritty crime thriller BLOOD TIES is set in 1974 New York City and based is on the novel by Michel and Bruno Papet. Clive Owen leads as fifty year-old recently released former gangster Chris, who finds his younger brother, Frank, a cop with a bright future, reluctantly waiting outside the prison gates and offering him a chance to share his home, find him a job and help him reconnect with his children and his ex-wife. Unfortunately, Chris’ past quickly catches up to him and his descent back into the criminal underworld becomes inevitable.
BLOOD TIES made its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival earlier last year and co-stars Zoe Saldana, Mila Kunis, Marion Cotillard, Lili Taylor, Noah Emmerich, Matthias Schoenaerts, Griffin Dunne and James Caan. The film is also co-written and produced by James Gray and arrives in the US 21st March. No word yet on a UK release.
