Trailer For ‘A Long Way Down’ Starring Pierce Brosnan, Toni Collette, Aaron Paul, and Imogen Poots Lands

I’ve personally been a fan of Nick Hornby’s for many years. All of the way from the superb FEVER PITCH starring Colin Firth (probably helped that I’m an Arsenal fan), to the superb ABOUT A BOY and HIGH FIDELITY – the films of Hornby’s books have more often delighted than not. Let’s forget about THE PERFECT CATCH shall we?

Hornby’s next book-to-screen adaptation, A LONG WAY DOWN, arrives in cinemas in 2014 and stars Pierce Brosnan, Toni Collette, Aaron Paul, and Imogen Poots as four strangers who head to the top of a London high-rise on New Year’s Eve to commit suicide. Sounds jovial.

Here’s the full synopsis to give you a better flavour.

New Year’s Eve on the top of a London skyscraper. MARTIN (Brosnan) is literally on the edge. A once-beloved TV personality, he’s now desperate to jump. But he’s not alone. Single mother MAUREEN, (Collette), sassy teen JESS (Poots), and failed musician turned pizza-delivery boy JJ (Paul), have all turned up on the same roof with the same plan.

Instead of jumping, these four strangers make a pact to stay alive and stay together until Valentine’s Day at least.  Both funny and poignant, A LONG WAY DOWN follows this group of unlikely friends as they try to pull back from the brink.

Digital Spy debuted the new trailer for the film earlier today, which you can watch below.

A LONG WAY DOWN arrives in UK cinemas on the 21st March 2014, with a US debut to follow (TBA).
