US Box Office: ‘Ride Along’ Continues Its Journey!

I, FrankensteinThere was no change at the top of the US box-office this week. The Kevin Hart and Ice Cube police comedy, RIDE ALONG, remained at the top of the charts with a $21,162,000 weekend. Added to its previous take, this puts the film at $75.4 million. This week’s “big” new release was the action horror I, FRANKENSTEIN. However, with a not so great $8.2 million opening it looks as though the film will have less life than its protagonist. This makes it the biggest flop of the year so far, and also suggests that we are getting bored of supernatural action films. Elsewhere in the charts, Mark Wahlberg’s surprise hit LONE SURVIVOR continued to rake in the cash with an extra $12.6 million while Oscar contenders AMERICAN HUSTLE and THE WOLF OF WALL STREET also made additions to the kitty, now standing at $127 million and $98 million respectively.
