After the brilliant AVENGERS ASSEMBLE was released in 2012, we were unfortunately lead to believe that earths mightiest heroes will not be reuniting in any capacity until Joss Whedon’s 2015 sequel AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON. As disappointing as this news was, fans of the first film knew that the wait will undoubtedly be worth it. However, the patience and faith of moviegoers and Marvelites alike were thankfully rewarded after the credits of IRON MAN 3 when Mark ‘The Hulk’ Ruffalo made a surprise cameo appearance.
Last October’s THOR: THE DARK WORLD followed suit and also managed to squeeze in a special AVENGERS treat in the form of another cameo. Chris Evans made an uncredited appearance as Captain America during an illusion used by Loki to taunt his aggravated brother Thor. The sequence was not only inventive but also hilarious and as a result was well received by both fans and critics. Now a behind the scenes clip has been released online which reveals that Tom Hiddleston actually wore the famous Captain America costume for the sequence. Clearly Chris Evans’ face was digitally inserted onto Hiddleston’s body during post-production, however it’s certainly entertaining to see the charismatic star do his best Cap impression and by the looks of it have barrels of fun doing so. You can watch the clip below:
THOR: THE DARK WORLD stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Jaimie Alexander, Christopher Eccleston, Idris Elba and Anthony Hopkins. The film will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray 24th February from Marvel Studios.
