Eisenberg Vs. Eisenberg In ‘The Double’ Trailer

Richard Ayoade’s debut feature SUBMARINE, was a delightful coming of age tale with a dark atmosphere to it. THE DOUBLE, based on Dostoevsky’s novella, seems to continue with teh comedic but dark tone, as Jesse Eisenberg plays a man who discovers his exact double, although nobody else seems to clock the resemblance. Once his doppelganger begins to outperform him in all aspects of life, it may be time for some drastic measures.

Looking like both a great comedy and a dark and emotional tale of identity, this trailer really does highlight a film that needs to be watched. The inclusion of familiar faces such as Christopher Morris and Chris O’Dowd, along with big name stars, also seems to be working in terms of chemistry. Anyone doubting Eisenberg’s ability to play Lex Luther, will surely see a darker side here.

THE DOUBLE is released on 4th April in the UK, and has a limited release in the US on 9th May. It stars Jesse Eisenberg, Mia Wasikowska, Wallace Shawn, Chris O’Dowd, Gemma Chan, Sally Hawkins, Noah Taylor, and Yasmin Paige.
