Back in September we reported that TWILIGHT heartthrob Robert Pattinson and THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES star Dane DeHaan had joined new project LIFE. Today we can add Sir Ben Kingsley and Alessandra Mastronardi to the cast list.
Pattinson will feature as freelance photographer Dennis Stock, hired by Life Magazine to create a photo-visual report on actor James Dean (to be played by DeHaan). The film will depict their cross-country journey and the friendship that forms between the two. It has not been revealed who Kingsley (SHUTTER ISLAND) and Mastronardi (TO ROME WITH LOVE) will play.
After disappearing off the acting scene for a while it’ll be good to see Pattinson back in action, especially alongside DeHaan; they’ll form an unlikely pair on screen. Kingsley is a classic star, but I haven’t seen anything featuring Alessandra – maybe this will help shoot her name into the Hollywood stratosphere?
Directed by Anton Corbijn, shooting for the production has commenced in Toronto, so I’d expect a trailer in the coming months.
