100 million users plus play the game ‘Minecraft’ video game around the world, which is frankly, a lot of people, so it won’t surprise you that Warner Brothers are looking to adapt the property for the big screen. Now, I am not one of those 100 million registered users, so I had to look it up, and here’s the official breakdown of what the game is about.
Minecraft is a game about breaking and placing blocks. At first, people built structures to protect against nocturnal monsters, but as the game grew players worked together to create wonderful, imaginative things.
It can also be about adventuring with friends or watching the sun rise over a blocky ocean. It’s pretty. Brave players battle terrible things in The Nether, which is more scary than pretty. You can also visit a land of mushrooms if it sounds more like your cup of tea.
It also won’t surprise to to learn that Roy Lee, who produced THE LEGO MOVIE for the studio, is also behind this (he must really love block-building). For more info on ‘Minecraft,’ take a look here. You might want to join the mighty 100 million.
