‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ Will Fast-Track Shooting Of Scarlett Johansson’s Scenes

Scarlett Johansson in her role as Black Widow

As those who keep up with the reproductive activity of their favourite actors and actresses will know, Scarlett Johansson was yesterday reported as pregnant: great news for her and her fiancée, not-so-great news for the production of superhero sequel AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON.

Thankfully, rather than using CGI trickery to hide the inevitable baby bump under her skin-tight black catsuit (or cutting her character of Black Widow altogether), Joss Whedon and co are intending to fast-track Johansson’s scenes.

Filming will begin on 5th April after Johansson finishes her press tour for CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER. Hopefully the production won’t face any issues of practicality from rearranging the shoot around Johansson, but it’s probably still the most sensible move given the circumstances.

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON is directed by Joss Whedon and stars Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Don Cheadle, Paul Bettany, James Spader, Cobie Smulders, Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. It’s due for release in UK cinemas on 1st May, 2015.
