South By South West is on its way, so you know what the means right? CLIPS! The first big preview that has graced our web pages is a new clip for the Jimi Hendrix biopic ALL IS BY MY SIDE.
André Benjamin, known to most as André 3000, stars as Hendrix. The John Ridley directed and penned movie follows the rockstar before he rocketed to fame with his debut album in the late 1960s. The film also stars Imogen Poots, Burn Gorman and Hayley Atwell as Kathy Etchingham.
The film had hit a lot of snags along the way, what with Hendrix’s estate denying any use of his music in the film and all (A film about a musician without actually using the music? We know right…) But it’s coming, and judging by the clips that we have shown you below, Benjamin has got Hendrix down. We’re not so scared after all!
ALL IS BY MY SIDE will have its US premiere at SXSW Film Festival 12th March. It is set to be released in the UK 8th August 2014.
