After taking her to his flat to tend to her wounds, he listens intently as Joe, over the next eight chapters, recounts the erotic experiences of her eventful life, from her birth up until the present day.

This new, darkly humorous drama from Guiraudie marks a slightly more conventional direction for the often idiosyncratic filmmaker. STRANGER BY THE LAKE focuses on ten days at a local cruising spot for gay men, exploring the torrid, complex relationship between quiet, thoughtful Franck (Pierre Deladonchamps) and the attractive, dangerous Michel (Christophe Paou).
