Some DC Comics fans may have been disappointed with the news that THE FLASH would be receiving his own television series rather than a feature film. However the character has thus far been handled excellently by both the CW and Grant Gustin (who portrays the character). Gustin made a two-episode appearance on the CW’s ARROW as Barry Allen, before leaving and being struck by lightning during a particle accelerator malfunction. This accident is the narrative device the show will use to give Allen his super speed and spin him off into his own series titled THE FLASH.
So far we have glimpsed Gustin’s costume in the above image but now Warner Bros Television and the CW have released a full fledged look at the Scarlet speedster in all his glory. Take a look at the magnificent costume below:
It seems that the network have certainly gone out of their way to make the costume appear as grounded as possible, and wouldn’t even look out of place in a big screen outing alongside Henry Cavill’s Superman. Hopefully THE FLASH can maintain the quality of ARROW whilst mixing in science fiction elements without compromising the gritty and realistic world that has been established so far.
