Last week we brought you the news of the next setting for American Horror Story. The exquisite dark series completely re-invents itself each year, keeping some of the cast and telling a whole new independent story with them. The first series followed a dysfunctional family as they unknowingly moved into a haunted house, the second was set in an asylum and featured aliens ans serial killers, most recently the third series has focussed on witches. The fourth installement will be set in a carnival circa the 1950’s. We can now share the subtitle to the new series – Freak Show.

Details of the story have slowly begun to emerge with Entertainment Weekly managing to get some plot details out of show creator Ryan Murphy.

Set in Jupiter, Florida, in 1950, Freak Show finds Jessica Lange playing a German ex-pat who is managing one of the last freak shows in the U.S.

Freak Show will see AHS matriarch Jessica Lange play-out her last series with the show, with the likes of Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett and Frances Conroy playing the acts in her show.  Coven stars Denis O’Hare and Emma Roberts are also in talks to return.

If the show follows previous patterns it will be back for it’s thirteen week stretch from Halloween week.
