Fellow Homeland lovers, you’ll probably get a little amusement out of the title for Damian Lewis’ new film – Was he turned or did he choose to be a traitor? The new big-screen adaption of John le Carre’s novel is that OUR KIND OF TRAITOR is a spy thriller being directed by Susanna White, famous for directing the BBC’s Bleak House and Parade’s End.

This time Lewis is sticking to his British accent as he’ll play a member of our UK intelligence, alongside roles for Ewan McGregor, Naomie Harris and Stellan Skarsgard. The novel focuses on an English couple in Antigua who are on some form of holiday, when they’re lured in by a member of the Russian mafia things start to get awry, the British Secret Service get involved and the tension begins to build!

If you loved TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY, then you’ll get a little insight in the style, as that’s one of le Carre’s works as well and I’m a massive fan of this type of adaption. It’s brought to the big screen by Hossein Amini, who you’ll also know as he wrote the screenplay for DRIVE and the upcoming THE TWO FACES OF JANUARY that’s based on a novel by Patricia Highsmith and holds the essence of THE TALENTED MR RIPLEY.

OUR KIND OF TRAITOR is currently in production but we’ll bring you all the latest as we hear!
