Surprise! ‘Phantasm V’ Is Here With New Trailer

The PHANTASM franchise started way back in 1979, with PHANTASM IV being released 16 years ago in 1998. Although rumours had been around (when are they not?) confirmation of a PHANTASM V, titled PHANTASM V: RAVAGER, only arrived on Wednesday. Despite this, the film is well into production with principal photography completed and a trailer already here to knock our socks off.

David Hartman, a man with a background in animation, directs, which seems like a good fit as Hartman worked on VFX for original PHANTASM director, Don Coscarelli’s BUBBA HO-TEP and JOHN DIES AT THE END. Franchise regulars Angus Scrimm, Reggie Banister, and Michael Baldwin all return to reprise their roles.

Coscarelli promises some surprise for fans along the way:

[There’s an] an extended sequence on the Tall Man’s home world. There are also some surprises thrown in that I promise will astonish long-time fans.
