Not every animation perfects that balance of a film that spans the audience generation, but 20th Century Fox’s HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2 looks set to continue its trend of finding a niche in the market and making it utterly accessible to all. Today you’ll get to watch the first five minutes of this second outing for Hiccup (voiced by Jay Baruchel) and Toothless five years after the events of the original.
Now we have dragons and vikings on the same side, what else can they bring? Well, it seems from this brief look that we’re due to expect a whole lot of adventure, humour and a definite connection that alters from your usual outing. While Astrid, Snoutlout and the rest of the gang are challenging each other to dragon races (the island’s new favourite contact sport), the inseparable heroes are going freefall skydiving, charting unmapped territories and exploring new worlds. When they discover the mysterious Dragon Rider, the two friends find themselves at the center of a battle to protect the peace.
This opening gambit looks truly stunning, and I look forward to seeing the full movie once it swoops into the UK on 4th July. Watch it now below, check out their official Facebook and let us know what you think in the comments below:
