Just when you thought that Marvel had completely taken over the headlines with CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER and THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2, BATMAN VS SUPERMAN comes back with a bang.
With production on the highly anticipated DC Comics sequel currently underway in Detroit, Michigan, it was only a matter of time before the film stole the headlines once again with a surprise casting announcement or character rumour. Now it has been revealed that unknown theatre actor Ray Fisher has landed the role of Victor Stone/Cyborg in a very unexpected addition to the already enormous cast. You can see a photo of the young (future) star below, along with a quote from the report further confirming plans for a future JUSTICE LEAGUE team-up:
‘Victor Stone or ‘Cyborg,’ while not a major part in the Batman-Superman feature, is a member of the Justice League and will become a much more significant role as Warner and D.C. develop more films related to the Justice League universe’.
Non comic fans may not be aware of who ‘Cyborg’ is but the character was a vital part of the popular Teen Titans animated series that aired from 2003 to 2006, in which the character was voiced by Khary Payton. With Gal Gadot having a small role as Wonder Woman in BATMAN VS SUPERMAN and Dwayne Johnson also rumoured to have a part somewhere in the mix, Warner Bros are definitely showing serious commitment to getting a JUSTICE LEAGUE film on the big screen.
BATMAN VS SUPERMAN stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Lawrence Fishburne, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter, Callan Mulvey, Tao Okamoto and Ray Fisher. Check back with THN for more news on the exciting film!
