Watch The First Trailer For Richard Linklater’s ‘Boyhood’

A film twelve years in the making, Richard Linklater’s BOYHOOD finally arrives in cinemas later this summer. The film tells a story of a divorced couple (Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette) trying to raise their young son (Ellar Coltrane). We follow the boy for twelve years, from first grade at age 6 through 12th grade at age 17-18, and examines his relationship with his parents as he grows.

In a movie first, Linklater cast six-year old Coltrane all of the way back in 2002, and filmed the story over the following twelve years using the same actor and cast, and the result is this charming film for which we’ve just received the very first trailer.

This really has to be on you ‘must watch’ list this year. It arrives in US cinemas on July 11th, with a UK release to be announced.
