First up, there were no Wayan’s involved in the making of this parody, so relax, it actually looks quite impressive! THEY CAME TOGETHER is from David Wain, the man behind the awesome ROLE MODELS and WANDERLUST. He returns once again to the mighty Paul Rudd alongside the equally mighty Amy Poehler for a little play on the romantic-comedy genre, something that doesn’t do too well currently.
This first trailer is rather entertaining as well, with self-referential points of obvious cliches in every rom-com out there and it’ll surely have a clever underbelly, that we can scratch and love. (Too weird?) Moving on, the film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival with high plaudits and so we’re looking forward to seeing the whole picture, once it’s released in the USA on 27th June and UK dates still to be confirmed.
Wain co-wrote the script with Michael Showalter and there’s also appearances for Bill Hader, Ken Marino Cobie Smulders, Max Greenfield, Christopher Meloni, Jack McBrayer, Michael Shannon and more! Check it out now:
