LONDON HAS FALLEN, the sequel to the 2013 thriller OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN, has today revealed a release date and some basic plot details.
The first film starred Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman and Radha Mitchell, and all the cast have apparently signed on to return for the sequel. OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN followed Mike Banning (Butler), a disgraced secret service agent who was the only man who could rescue old friend and President, Benjamin Asher (Eckhart). Asher and all his advisors were trapped with a terrorist group that had taken the White House hostage.
The follow-up will be set in Britain (obviously given the title) and will see Banning return to fight even more bad guys. Details revealed today state that all the world’s leaders will gather in London for the funeral of our Prime Minister. The group will of course end up caught, and Banning will have to pull out all the stops to save them all. Maybe he could call up Jack Bauer, I hear he’s currently in the neighbourhood.
An US release date of 2nd October 2015 has also been announced, with a UK one to be determined.
