Love it or hate it, the ‘found-footage‘ film doesn’t look like its going to disappear any time soon. It is particularly popular within the horror genre with the V/H/S series trying to reinvigorate the phenomena. The films are more of a collective of short film strung together around a slightly longer narrative and feature some pretty grizzly segments directed by the up-and-coming directors of the horror such as Ti West.
Each short film tends to have a different style of filming ranging from Google glass-esque glasses to a robotic artificial eye. The first film was a cult smash and of course a sequel was green-lit and now a third is in the works. Filming with the current title of V/H/S VIRAL, the films wrap-around narrative focuses on a group of fame-obsessed teens who unwittingly become stars of the next internet sensation.
The film is still to be sold to a studio though given the success of previous outings it is sure to be snapped up when it goes up for sale at this years Cannes film festival. To whet buyers and viewers appetite a still from the film has been released, see below:
