THN are pleased to bring you this exclusive clip from Charlie Stratton’s IN SECRET, a film based on the Emile Zola classic Thérèse Raquin, starring Elizabeth Olsen, Tom Felton, Oscar Isaac and
Jessica Lange.
It’s set in the lower echelons of 1860s Paris, where Therese Raquin, a sexually repressed beautiful young woman, is trapped into a loveless marriage to her sickly cousin, Camille (Tom Felton – who you’ll know previously as Draco Malfoy), by her domineering aunt, Madame Raquin (Jessica Lange). Therese spends her days confined behind the counter of a small shop and her evenings watching Madame play dominoes with an eclectic group. After she meets her husband’s alluring friend, Laurent (the excellent Oscar Isaac playing another somewhat misguided soul), she embarks on an illicit affair that leads to tragic consequences.
Intense stuff we feel, but interesting at the same time and great to see Olsen continuing her work taking on different roles, and Felton who’s shaking off the HARRY POTTER past. IN SECRET opens in the UK on May 16th, check out the clip:
