Open Road Films has announced today that it will distribute Jon Stewart’s feature film ROSEWATER, based on the best-selling book ‘Then They Came For Me: A Family’s Story Of Love, Captivity And Survival’, by BBC journalist Maziar Bahari.
The film will be the directorial and screenwriting debut for Jon Stewart, best known for hosting THE DAILY SHOW. ROSEWATER stars Gael Garcia Bernal, and follows the Tehran-born Bahari, who returns to Iran after living in London to interview Mir-Hossein Moussavi, who was the prime challenger to controversial incumbent president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and he was soon arrested by the Revolutionary Guard police, who interrogated him for over 100 days.
