Spooky Trailer For ‘Deliver Us From Evil’ Starring Eric Bana

Nothing like watching a trailer that puts a new spin on a tired genre. DELIVER US FROM EVIL seems to come across as a police thriller along the lines of SE7EN, that is until the element of possession is thrown in. Eric Bana plays a grounded cop who stumbles across a series of possessions he believes to be just odd occurrences. That is until he his own family is targeted. Edgar Ramirez joins Bana as a priest in what could be a deliciously twisted buddy cop against demons film without any humour. Scott Derrickson, the man behind SINISTER and THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE, seems to be combining elements of both of those films, and there are plenty of creepy moments in the trailer. You have to wonder though, who on Earth is buying their children these creepy-ass toys?

Like SINISTER before it, Derrickson is using talented actors to lead us on the emotional path of the story. Hopefully it successfully mixes all its elements to create something both terrifying and memorable. It’s certainly piqued my interest.

DELIVER US FROM EVIL is released 2nd July in the US and 22 August in the UK. It stars Eric Bana, Edgar Ramirez, Olivia Munn, Sean Harris, Joel McHale, Dorian Missick, and Antoinette LaVecchia.
