So there we have it, not only has filming begun on Zack Snyder’s huge MAN OF STEEL follow-up but I think we’ve just bagged ourselves an official title as well!
BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE is an interesting one and for us, still lurks around the world of Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns, heck that aging Ben Affleck shot certainly resembled it and everyone knows about Snyder’s admiration for the graphic novel, plus his colour scheme. The best thing is, if he does what he did with WATCHMEN and basically copy a whole lot along the new script, I’ll have a lot more faith in the eventual narrative.
The fact that the screenplay is by ARGO’s Chris Terrio also gives us hope and indicates a big reason for why Ben Affleck is involved alongside Henry Cavill’s Superman. Plus, it’s not everyday you get to play Batman so who wouldn’t?
BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE also stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, with Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane returning from MAN OF STEEL. There’s also Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and Holly Hunter in a role newly created for the film.
Principal photography will take place on location at Michigan Motion Picture Studios and on location in and (where it’s just begun today) around Detroit, Michigan; Illinois; Africa; and the South Pacific. And space. And on the fake island of Lost…the latter two we may have added.
Set to open worldwide on May 6, 2016, BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE is based on Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster, Batman characters created by Bob Kane, and Wonder Woman created by William Moulton Marston, appearing in comic books published by DC Entertainment.
