There have been several rumours around the hit HBO show TRUE DETECTIVE but this latest one seems to follow up a rumour that writer Nic Pizzolatto was thinking of casting two female leads for the next series.Although Chastain’s reps have refused to comment on it yet, it seems that the Academy Award nominated actress would be a great addition to the show. Recently Brad Pitt was linked to a role though that seems unlikely now that they are looking at female leads.
The first series, which featured A-List actors Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, was a massive success worldwide and it could easily be appealing for other actors of their calibre.
Chastain has had a great career these last few years with box office hits such as THE HELP and ZERO DARK THIRTY. She has recently just finished filming Guillermo del Toro’s gothic horror CRIMSON PEAK with Tom Hiddleston and Mia Wasikowska and with a much anticipated Marilyn Monroe biopic BLONDE due out next year, her star is only going to keep rising.
