Alfonso Cuaron Won’t Be Directing ‘Fantastic Beasts’

Unlike our previous report,  it appears that all hope of Alfonso Cuaron directing FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM are out.

It has been confirmed today that the GRAVITY director has no plans for the near future and instead wishes to spend the summer at home with his family.  Of course this isn’t a direct “no” but it now looks very unlikely for the director who was only recently “deep in talks” to take on the project but, in reality, it seems that rightly so after 5-years involved in the visuals of his GRAVITY, he’s eager to get back to then outside world saying:

“I’m once again connecting with life, I have no plans of any kind.”

Cuaron was the director of HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN and seemed a perfect match to venture into the world of J.K. Rowling again.

The film is based on the fictional author Newt, who fans will recognise as the writer of the Hogwarts textbook.  According to Warner Bros, there are plans to turn the book into a trilogy.

With a proposed release date for November 2016, there is ample time to find a director for the project.  As soon as we hear anything we will update you on the news.
