You’ll be getting double Robert for your dinero if you choose to watch IDOL’S EYE, as Robert De Niro and Robert Pattinson have joined the crime picture helmed by Olivier Assayas. Assayas and company are keeping details about the film under wraps, so there isn’t much to go on just yet. Fortunately, Assayas’ output speaks volumes, with great films such as CLEAN, SOMETHING IN THE AIR, and SUMMER HOURS filling out his filmography, as well as the upcoming CLOUDS OF SILS MARIA. The latter film recently premiered at Cannes, and received a generally positive response.
IDOL’S EYE will begin filming in October in Chicago and Toronto. In my books, Pattinson still has a lot of work to do to shed his sparkly TWILIGHT skin, and although he has been trying with the likes of COSMOPOLIS, but that turned out even worse than the teen vampire flicks. Assayas is an excellent director though and is sure to pull out a decent performance from his cast.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.

Cosmopolis is a movie for adults if you’re comparing it to Twilight,it seems you’re not adult.

By writing that Assayas ” is an excellent director though” you implie that the director of Cosmopolis isn’t? We’re talking about David Cronenberg !!
