Synopsis: As Deputy Molly Solverson recovers from her injury, Lorne Malvo takes a trip to Fargo.

After the last nail biting episode, I expected something a little more sedate with FARGO this week.  Though I’m not really sure that this series does ‘sedate’.

After last week’s epic blizzard gun fight where Deputy Molly Solverson was accidentally shot by Officer Gus Grimly, I was pleased to find out that she was alive and recuperating in hospital.  Poor Grimly was beside himself as he confessed to shooting her, but she took it well and seemed more occupied in finding Lorne Malvo, who we learn she had a quick glimpse of in the snow. Lester Nygaard’s evil plan comes into play as his nephew Gordo is discovered with the gun at school.  This of course leads to the police searching Chazz’s house and discovering the murder weapon and Pearl’s underwear amongst other things.

Nygaard gives the performance of his life as Chief Bob Oswalt basically tells him what he thinks happened.  Of course Nygaard agrees and isn’t shocked by his brother’s “crimes” at all.  Nygaard heads for home with a spring in his step knowing he has gotten away with it. Meanwhile Lorne Malvo heads to Fargo to take down the man who put  Mr Numbers and Mr Wrench onto him.  In another fantastically shot scene, we hear Malvo shoot his way through a building of tinted windows with an occasional bullet or person crashing through.  This was amazing and up there with the epic blizzard fight.  Most definitely one of the highlights of the series.  And again, Malvo evades the world’s most rubbish FBI guys like a ghost.

Whilst recovering in hospital, Solverson has pretty much figured out the whole case.  She pays a visit to a shot Mr Wrench to try to find answers about Malvo but Mr Wrench just seems to care more about his late friend Mr Numbers.  Is this the end for him or will he try to avenge Numbers murder? Nygaard is back at work and feeling rather smug with himself.  After finding out that Sam Hess’ widow Gina won’t receive any money for her husband’s death, Nygaard steps in to deliver the news personally.  Only he doesn’t, he uses the opportunity to give the dead Hess a middle finger by sleeping with his wife as payback.

The episode ends as Solverson returns to work to tell Oswalt her theory on the murders.  She is stunned to find out that Chazz has been arrested and that the case has apparently been solved.  Will she accept Chazz’s arrest or will she fight it?

All in all a good episode, It was fairly chilled out until Malvo’s amazing Fargo shooting. There was no Stavros, so I assume his story is over.  I have a feeling that Grimly is going to be the driving force for a deflated Solverson.  I think/hope he will become really important in catching Malvo and Nygaard.  Solverson’s look of total defeat at the end of the episode made me think she will doubt her spot on theory.  With only three episodes to go, it is clear they are going to be explosive.
