If The LEGO Movie hadn’t made us already all awesome and excited for the brick-building goodness, THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL people have jumped on the homemade bandwagon and made this, frankly, quite stunning replica of the now-famous Wes Anderson hotel.
It’s all to tie in for the Home Entertainment release of Anderson’s wonderful film that’s released in North America on June 17th and you can pick up your own in the UK on July 7th.
For this creation, Fox Searchlight commissioned the artistry for Ryan Ziegelbauer and his team of eight builders who put the model together. It has been made using 50,000 certified LEGO bricks from collectors and wholesalers in Poland, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania and 14 U.S.States and took an astounding 575 hours to design and build – as you’ll see in the featurette below!
This film was one of my favourites of the year so far and this is something I now want, you’ll even see a little help from the all-star cast in the shape bellboy Zero, played by Tony Revolori:
THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL is released on Blu-ray and DVD in North America on June 17th and you can pick it up in the UK on July 7th.
