Jared Leto could be set to take on the leading role in sci-fi thriller BRILLIANCE. A few weeks ago it was reported that Will Smith had dropped out of the adaptation of Marcus Sakey’s novel of the same name.
The film is set in a world where one percent of people are born ‘brilliants’, these are gifted individuals with heightened cognitive abilities. Leto could take over the role of a federal agent who uses his gift to hunt terrorists, although he soon meets his match when aiming to track down another ‘brilliant’ who looks to ignite a civil war. Noomi Rapace is on-board to co-star as a rebellious ‘brilliant’ who is targeted as a terrorist by the government.
Jared Leto returned to cinema screens after a six-year hiatus to concentrate on his music career. His return to the big screen saw him awarded with a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his performance in ‘DALLAS BUYERS CLUB’. Leto has been relatively quiet discussing any future projects, although it has been rumoured he is a possible candidate to star in Marvel’s DOCTOR STRANGE.
