‘Paddington’ Film Loses Colin Firth’s Voice

It has just been announced that THE KING’S SPEECH actor Colin Firth has dropped out of the upcoming Paddington bear film.

StudioCanal has confirmed the bear has no voice after Colin Firth surprisingly exited the role, due to him believing he was not right for the job. During the voice recording for the film, both Firth and Director Paul King agreed that the voice didn’t seem to match with the bear onscreen.

Firth explains:

“After a period of denial we’ve chosen conscious uncoupling. I’ve had the joy of seeing most of the film and it’s going to be quite wonderful. I still feel rather protective of this bear and I’m pestering them all with suggestions for finding a voice worthy of him.”

Despite the loss of an Oscar winning actor, the film boasts other actors such as Nicole Kidman, Jim Broadbent and Peter Capaldi. The film is set to be released in December, so that should be enough time to decide on the perfect actor.

Maybe they could hire Geoffrey Rush (THE KINGS SPEECH) to help the bear find his voice?
