Tom Cruise is arguably the biggest Hollywood star on the planet and his career seems to consistently skyrocket critically or financially (or both) with every film he stars in. This has only increased with the action hero’s recent releases such as MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: GHOST PROTOCOL and EDGE OF TOMORROW (the latter of which is currently enjoying rave reviews).
Now a new report claims that Cruise could be making a short trip to a galaxy far far away to further cement his place in cinematic history, by joining one of the most famous film franchises of all time. That’s right a reunion for Cruise and J.J. Abrams could be on the cards for the immensely publicized STAR WARS EPISODE VII. A meeting has reportedly occurred between the two in London to discuss a potential role for Cruise in the upcoming film. Abrams is said to be keen on working with Cruise again after previously teaming up for MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 3 and 4.
Another reason for the last minute cameo meetings is apparently due to Harrison Ford’s leg injury which has delayed production. This would therefore allow the production team to utilize the extra time and also increase the already enormous amount of hype for the film, by adding the powerhouse star to the cast (albeit in a small role). As a huge fan of Cruise it would be fantastic to see him in STAR WARS EPISODE VII and after the brilliant EDGE OF TOMORROW, his reputation is at an all time high.
