WATCH – ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part One’ Teaser Is Here

THE HUNGER GAMES movies have taken the world by storm, with the first two instalments THE HUNGER GAMES and THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE taking a very healthy $832 million at the box office. Based on the popular literary franchise written by Suzanne Collins, the story is set in a dystopian future where the continent has been divided up into twelve districts. Each year two young children or teens (one male, one female) are chosen via a lottery known as ‘the reaping’ to take part in a tournament known as ‘The Hunger Games’. The tournament is basically one big battle royale with each child fighting not only for their district, but also their life.

In THE HUNGER GAMES we were introduced to Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), a young girl from the poorest District, District 12, who volunteered for the tournament in order to save her little sister Prim from having to compete. Whilst taking part she unwittingly helped kick-start a revolution against the Capitol and games instigator President Snow (Donald Sutherland). The next chapter in the story MOCKINGJAY will focus on the uprising and if you can’t wait until November check out the teaser below:

The teaser is very white, which given Wimbledon started this week is rather fitting, and sees President Snow making a public broadcast announcement, talking of unity, prosperity, and sacrifice. We then see that Snow isn’t alone as he has a rather stoic Peeta at his side.

THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY PART ONE stars Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Donald Sutherland, Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, Julianne Moore and Natalie Dormer, and is released everywhere on 21st November.
