Originally titled THE F WORD, it’s been intelligently re-branded as WHAT IF, which means a whole lot less chat about the ‘F’ and an instant bigger audience without parents worrying.
But before we lose track in ‘what’s in a name?’, let’s get back to why we’re here and onto the interesting, entertaining looking WHAT IF starring Daniel Radcliffe, Zoe Kazan, Adam Driver, Rafe Spall and Oona Chaplin.
It’s selling itself around the question of ‘friendship’ between men and women and whether it can ever really exist, i.e. Can we all be friends without sex getting in the way? WHAT IF focuses on Wallace (Radcliffe), who’s been repeatedly burned by bad relationships. While everyone around him, including his roommate Allan (Driver), seems to be finding the perfect partner, Wallace decides to put his love life on hold. It’s then that he meets Chantry (Kazan), an animator who lives with her long term boyfriend Ben (Spall).
This funny trailer appears to be brave enough to go for a question that many don’t and try to find a different angle, much like (500) DAYS OF SUMMER. I don’t know if it’ll be that good but it’s definitely worth checking out. Here’s is it and let us know what you think:
