Temuera Morrison To Play Boba Fett In ‘Star Wars’ Standalone?

Temuera Morrison Boba Fett

Eagle-eyed pundits (or maybe just people who should really be working) have zeroed in on the IMDB entry for an upcoming STAR WARS movie and put two and two together in a highly entertaining fashion. Banking on a simple industry listing marked UNTITLED STAR WARS PROJECT being inadvertent enough to broadcast top secret information to the world (as it did with Benedict Cumberbatch’s role in STAR TREK: INTO DARKNESS), the site “discloses” that Temuera Morrison is to be Boba Fett.

A long time ago in a galaxy that seems very far away now, Morrison was Boba’s father Jango in the prequels, so it makes sense the bounty-hunter-to-be would grow up to be the spit of his Pa. Although this is totally unconfirmed there’s a fair amount of logic behind it (in as much as STAR WARS can comfortably support anything logical). Perhaps more intriguingly IMDB lists Gareth Edwards as director, which is more on the money as Edwards has been hired to helm an instalment.

There’s nothing like an educated bit of speculation to get everyone talking and we’ll find out if this punt has legs in the coming months.
