Having returned in the form of new shorter format, 24: Live Another Day reignited the fans love for the world of Kiefer Sutherland’s put upon ex-government agent. We at THN thought it did a great job of continuing the franchise and created our very own ‘Bauer Blog’ for viewers to read alongside the episodes. It even won round old cast members as we found out when we spoke to Glenn Morshower.
Whilst speaking at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour, Fox CEO Peter Rice has teased that there could very well be more bad days for Jack Bauer on the horizon.
“I loved this year’s season of 24. I’ve always been a fan. We haven’t had a specific conversation about it coming back yet, but I’m sure we will in the future. It’s a wonderful franchise. When you look at the show itself, it has many more stories to tell. I think we need to sit down and talk to the creators.”
The new series drew to its conclusion last week and ended rather open-endedly leaving a logical way forward for future incarnations of the show. After several failed attempts at getting a film off of the ground it would seem that more of these ‘event’ television seasons are the best way to keep the programme alive.
