First Still For ‘Insidious 3’ Arrives With Confirmation Of Prequel

Leigh Whannell has done wonders for the horror world having birthed both SAW and INSIDIOUS from the depths of his brain. Whilst the SAW franchise was firmly in the torture-porn genre – with each one growing more grotesque, the INSIDIOUS series has been a pretty gore-free affair. The series harks back to the old school days of horror where it was the unknown and things that can’t be fully glimpsed that sent chills down the spine. The first was very much a modern day POLTERGEIST with the scares coming from the everyday mundane.

After the success of the second chapter it was announced that a third film was in the works this time with Whannell taking on directing duties as well as writing and starring. The film which is due out next year has shared it’s very first still which whilst not giving away too much plot wise, has confirmed that this film with be a prequel.

For those not in the know someone in the picture didn’t make it to the end of the last film. The prequel is also thought to go further into explaining the actual ‘further’. The paranormal investigating team of Lin Shaye, Angus Sampson and Leigh Whannell will this time be helping a family, headed by Delmot Mulroney, as their teenage daughter starts to attract all manner of things that set off the house alarm in the night.

INSIDIOUS CHAPTER 3 is set for a US release on May 29th 2015, with a UK one yet to be confirmed.
