Just a few days after getting that confirmation of PIXELS and Sony Pictures venture into the retro gaming world, we get our first look at the cast who appear to be geeking out at (possibly) winning some kind of competition – It’s all guess work at this point to be honest.
Back in the directors chair is the legendary Chris Columbus which definitely stirs the interest further for this film where video game experts are recruited by the military to fight 1980s-era video game characters who’ve attacked New York. Yes, you read that correctly.
Based on the original short by Patrick Jean a few years ago, Sony have taken the idea and extensively expanded the universe. I was initially concerned about what they could do at all but it sounds brilliant mental, so right up my ridiculous street. It stars Michelle Monaghan, Peter Dinklage, Josh Gad, Adam Sandler, Kevin James and Brian Cox. It’s released in the UK on May 27, 2015.
