Chris Terrio Returning To Write Warner Bros’ ‘Justice League’

Justice League.

For every excited fanboy eagerly anticipating the release of BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, there is an equally pessimistic moviegoer ready to raise a sceptical eyebrow.

The film has been heavily criticised for its strange casting choices, seemingly unnecessary characters and overly ambitious narrative. However, fans have been particularly enthused about Zack Snyder’s intention to incorporate elements of Frank Miller’s Dark Knight Returns into the films script. This, coupled with the gorgeous design of Batman’s new costume, has generated enough positive publicity to keep the film at the forefront of moviegoers’ minds. Having said that, a film teaming up the worlds two most famous superheroes doesn’t need to impress anyone in order to get bums on seats in May 2016.

Now we have some more good news on the project, as it has been revealed that ARGO’s Chris Terrio has been approached to write Warner Bros. upcoming JUSTICE LEAGUE follow-up film. Terrio was brought on board to re-write the script for BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE back in January, and the Academy Award winning scribe has reportedly done a fantastic job. This has lead to Warner Bros. swiftly moving forward with their planned JUSTICE LEAGUE film, and they want Terrio there to help Snyder steer the ship in the right direction.

This is certainly good news for those having doubts about the upcoming team-up flick, and it also gives us even more hope the script will at least equal ARGO in quality. With Snyder’s visual style from WATCHMEN and MAN OF STEEL present, alongside Terrio’s (hopefully) brilliant screenplay, this film could just be DC Entertainment’s answer to THE AVENGERS.

BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Lawrence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jeremy Irons, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Scoot McNairy, Holly Hunter, Tao Okamoto and Callan Mulvey.

You got to love a pseudo movie journalist commenting about the “unnecessary characters and overly ambitious narrative” of a movie that won’t be released for over 18 months. And for people who want to hate it, go check the imdb page and look how many actors are actually hired for a role in the movie. 14. Yes… that’s WAY too many characters for a movie… said anyone who ever understood anything about cinema. The average movie will have around 50 to 60 characters in it. Not main characters, of course. But who said Alfred was going to have more than a few exposition scenes in that movie? And Lois Lane? Perry White? Martha Kent? People just love to build stuff in their head about what a movie is about to be and then pnic over what they just built in their own head.
