There’s always time for another supernatural thriller and especially when you’re putting together a strong cast that’s now added Elijah Wood to the likes of Vin Diesel, Michael Caine and Rose Leslie, who you’ll know from Game Of Thrones.
Directed by Breck Eisner (THE CRAZIES), Lionsgate are delving into the world of witches and (probably) demons, as THE LAST WITCH HUNTER centres around an immortal witch hunter (Diesel) who teams up with a witch to stop New York City’s covens from unleashing a disaster on the city, when I say ‘team-up’, I don’t think this is a buddy road movie but you never know!
The script is by the writing duo Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama (DRACULA UNTOLD, GODS OF EGYPT) and as both of their titles as upcoming, this could be the crop of new talent coming through in Hollywood. It’s based on the pitch by Cory Goodman. D.W. Harper and Melisa Wallack, with the latter having written DALLAS BUYERS CLUB and the screenplay for MIRROR MIRROR – so this is all about collaboration.
There’s no release dates yet on THE LAST WITCH HUNTER but we’ll keep you folks up-to-date.
